He sees through my nonchalant facade and says, "You do not believe me. I understand why you see me as your enemy, but let us work something out."

"What is the deal? Just a few hours ago, you were about to kill me." I finally look up to meet his dark green eyes and inquire.

"Okay, yeah, that is true." He then goes on to talk about his deal, which sounds like a peace, albeit a short one.

"Let us be you and me by ourselves. We hate each other and ourselves for ever being nice to each other. That is why we should leave the hate outside these walls."

He notices my confused look and continues, "For instance, you do not pay attention to those voices in your head. The whispers that say, 'I will die if you look at me even once.'"

"I made a mistake. That was not what I meant to say."
