Charlotte’s POV

I tried to hold it in, but the tears came out anyway. Queen Rene handed me a piece of cloth, and I wiped them with it.

Hunter was speaking to Dakota about something important. “Here, give this to the Grand Priest. He’s sure to know what it is,” she handed him a piece of old paper covering a strange orange gem. He took it and placed it into his bag.

Carmen pulled on his cloak, and he looked towards her. “Vanessa is also rooting for you to finish this mission in flying colors. Don’t disappoint her, please,” the short silver-haired girl said.

“She has my word,” he said. I thought it would be weird for him to receive orders for his reincarnated sister, but he didn’t seem to mind.
