Nathan’s POV

Isabella’s voice was sharp, pulling me out of my thoughts.

“What’s that?” she asked, as her fingers hovered over the keyboard.

I stared at the screen, my heart racing in a way I couldn’t quite explain.

“Wait, don’t scroll past,” I said quickly, leaning in closer. “Go back to the previous profile you just opened.”

She sighed, giving me a sidelong glance. “Alright, Nathan. Back to Eliza, right?”

The name sat there, bold and unassuming, I saw correctly.

“That’s Eliza,” I breathed out, almost to myself.

“Her? You know this person?”

“Yes… Yes, I do, I know her from way back.”

“There are lots of Elizas out there. How can you be sure this is the one you knew back then?” she asked, and I hated how logical she sounded because she was right. It might not be her.
