Chapter 122

Claire’s POV

“Mom!” I shouted as soon as I arrived at her house. this is so unlike her, she used to always be at the front door waiting for us whenever she knew we were coming home.

It made me nervous, what happened to my mom? I quickly went upstairs to her room to check on her, and I found her in her bedroom. I woke her up in case she was sleeping just to know that she was awake.

“What?!” she asked, “You startled me,” she said and with that I was able to breathe again. I wanted to laugh at how silly I can be. What am I thinking?

“I texted you I’ll be going here, and you’re not in the front door like you used to do whenever we’re coming home, so I was so nervous coming up here,” I said, which makes my mom laugh.

“You’re getting paranoid,” she smiled at me, “But don’t worry about me, I’m well. I’m just sleeping. If I read your message I’ll surely be at the front door, waiting for you,” she chuckled.

“I miss your dad,” she suddenly said.
