Eva’s POV
Deep in The Forest.
Every step I take makes the leaves crunch softly beneath my boots, and with each sound, I look over my shoulder.
Even though I came alone, it felt like eyes were everywhere.
Rain was already here when I reached the clearing , standing still, half her face hidden beneath the hood of her cloak. The wind toyed with her red hair, and for a moment, I almost didn’t recognize her. The Rain I used to know laughed easily and loved fiercely. The one standing before me now looked… empty.
“Eva,” she said quietly,almost detached.
“You’re late,” she muttered.
I gave a small, humorless smile. “You sound like him when you say that.”
She froze. “Don’t compare me to Kieran.”
