Then just slowly, the light begins to fade. Like it has been tired of being held into darkness for a very long time and it was time for it to finally go where it is wanted.

At the center of it all… where light was finally saying its goodbye, the Demon king drops to his knees.

Not the monster that towered over the battlefield moments ago and not the monster that was consumed with overwhelming darkness. He was no longer the monster with the mindless force of destruction that tore through everything in its path.

He was just… a man. Just a man who has struggled all his life in nothing but thick darkness.

His body trembles as the last strands of dark energy peel away from him, dissolving into nothing. The corruption that once clung to his skin, his bones, his very soul… gone.
