Chapter 10. Temporary Custody
Police cars were lined up and parked in the lodge courtyard, while the ambulance had left a few minutes ago. Willow sat on the sofa, her body wrapped in a jacket, her hands clutching a mug of coffee. She was exhausted, but she couldn’t close her eyes. Who knew how long she’d have to wait there and return to the town with Shawn.
This time, Willow would probably be taken to the police station for further questioning. She had told Shawn honestly that it was most likely a werewolf or a Lycan that had attacked them. But Shawn’s reaction had been silence. Then Willow had to face the fact that her status had changed from witness to suspect, even though there was no evidence against her.
The world seemed really funny to Willow.
Shawn, who came in through the back porch door, approached Willow, his face grim and brutal as he looked at her.
“We’re going to town now.”
