Chapter 14. First Laboratory

Willow tried not to complain as she walked into the dark forest, navigating through the thick vegetation and facing the insects. She endured the quite torturous journey with resilience to find Zoey again.

After about an hour, Willow could finally see a faint light in the distance. Hope began to spread within her. Suddenly, Kyler stopped walking and turned to face Willow.

“We’re here,” Kyler whispered.

“Is Zoey there? In the laboratory?” Willow asked.

“We’ll see. Meanwhile, wait here,” Kyler instructed.

Willow’s face expressed surprise. “But I want to look for Zoey.”

“You don’t know the danger that might be there. So, wait and don’t argue,” Kyler insisted.

Kyler rushed out of the forest area and swiftly ran towards the building referred to as the laboratory. The fence was high, with bright lights in a few corners. The building’s dark silhouette loomed in the night’s dimness.

There were no guards or any visible people around.
