Chapter 17. Intruder

After dinner, Willow and Kyler returned to the hotel. Their rooms were adjacent, with a connecting door that Kyler claimed would make it easier for him to keep an eye on Willow. However, Willow felt increasingly uncomfortable.

Standing at the threshold of the connecting door, Willow glanced at Kyler, observing the area outside the hotel through the window. She cleared her throat softly.

“Can I just lock the connecting door? I want to sleep,” Willow said.

“Just sleep. I won’t sneak in and enter your room. Unless there’s something dangerous,” replied Kyler.

You are dangerous to me! Willow screamed in her mind.

Feeling that arguing wouldn’t be helpful, Willow simply nodded weakly. Suddenly, Kyler moved from where he stood and opened a small case on the bedside table. He took out a dagger from its sheath and hurried towards Willow.

“What are you doing?” Willow stepped back, suspicious.

“This is a silver dagger. Our kind is very vulnerable to it.
