I had no recipe for how to deal with the passing of the days that seemed to be getting faster and faster. I looked at my wife, who was lying on the bed, preparing for the long-awaited delivery.
The minutes stopped, colliding with the doubts that accumulated and then made the hours pass too quickly. I held her hands so she did not feel alone, and I accompanied her until it was all over.
“Is everything all right?” I asked, looking at the doctor like someone about to be executed.
