The king’s announcement was not without consequences, and many spoke in favor and against in equal measure. For my part, I agreed because things were already getting out of hand. Fanatics began to sabotage food stocks to bring about the obligatory starvation they longed for in the entire city. The attacks would not stop if they continued to have hiding places, even if that was hard to understand.
