I swallowed hard at his severity. I had never seen him like this before. The stories about him were speechless, Ian had the most painful life of all, being tortured by his own grandfather and the fear that he would kill him for betraying the sect haunted him until he was dead. Now, he had a look of priceless freedom, but he was no less astute for it. He realized my relationship with Marielle and so, for the good of the group, I decided to keep a healthy distance that chilled me to the bone.

We had arrived in the city of Colbert and our spirits were growing higher and higher. With each passing hour, our hope of fulfilling the mission grew stronger. We stayed at an inn to go to one of the restaurants, to get information about the whereabouts of the young Lily, who had been chained up for a long time.

The waiter gave us a table for all of us to sit at. The place was very picturesque and the smell of food invaded my nostrils. That made me distract myself from the
