A scream inside my head made it impossible for me to even lift a new sword. She arrived before I could recover. I let out a string of curses as I saw Karl still there, with that arrogant expression of having nothing to lose. I couldn’t even execute him by traditional methods. And now, asking one of the guards to execute him would be like an act of cowardice.
“Jacob…” she began to say, running towards me.
She ran through the dungeon, even though she shouldn’t, it was dangerous for her to run in her pregnancy. I frowned.
“I’m not going to kill him.” I said, dryly, I was starting to feel so hostile that I remembered the past, as if I wanted to go back to that definitive coldness to have a bit of normality.
“Oh, it’s an act of mercy.” Dove jumped on me and hugged me, covering me with all her scent and impregnating me with it. “I knew you wouldn’t, it’s not the right thing to do. Let him be locked up, we’ll have better plans soon.”
