She started to cry and a grimace of laughter appeared on my face. It was like a play in which nothing made sense. Dove thought I was dead. That I was a ghost and that’s why she couldn’t see me.
By now, I understood that this was real. I was communicating with her without having to be in the same place.
I strained to shout.
“I’m not dead!” I shouted, with all my might. To make her stop sobbing inconsolably.
Dove kept sobbing. I tried to grab her by the shoulders so she would realize that I was not a ghost who had come to say goodbye.
I didn’t know what to do and the situation was desperate. I pulled her hair, trying to make her understand that I was not dead.
“Ah…” she let out a groan of pain.
