Chapter 401. A Common Problem

Carmen followed Karl after hearing him murmur. I wondered why she was following him, because in her eyes I could sometimes see that she wanted to keep looking for him. And Karl was an idiot, he didn’t deserve anyone to be looking for him. Maybe it was just to interrogate him. Or because she wanted me to talk to Larry alone. I wouldn’t know until I talked to her later.
“What did he tell you?” Larry asked, standing up and showing himself to be noticeably annoyed.
He had almost no patience left and it was obvious.
I swallowed nervously. I looked for a chair to sit down. Although everything there had an unpleasant smell. I had to remove dirty clothes from a chair to be able to sit down. Then I would have to wash my hands too many times.
I looked at Larry trying to appear calm. But I wasn’t. It was more like the absolute opposite. I wasn’t at all calm. That was a great weight on my shoulders. In Karl’s eyes I could see that it was his heart that was spe
