“Mommy…” Cethium’s voice interrupted my support for Carmen.
I wanted to stay by her side to give her my support in what she had to face, in her struggle to talk to Larry. My son was calling me and when I didn’t respond the first few times, he was starting to get desperate.
I walked out of the room and into the hallway, with the expression of anxiety etched on my face.
Cethium was on his makeshift bed, with his arms crossed and visibly annoyed.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, approaching carefully so as not to wake his brother who was still asleep.
