Every step I tried to take to attack or approach the people was like fighting against the waves of the sea. My body felt incredibly heavy, as if I was carrying chains on every part of it. And the desperation was so great that I could barely think of what alternatives I had left.

I didn’t even know what I could do to change this terrible situation. If I went back to my body, I would lose even more time. Marielle’s life was in danger, Lucero’s too. Marielle didn’t have to trust those women; they said they would spare her life, but I could smell the lie. They were going to kill them both or do something worse, because those promises were false.

These people were sinister. This village was sinister.

The damned guards were advancing. This ghostly state was not at all pleasant. Everything was darker than usual. A darkness that extinguished the clarity of the environments, it was different from my normal vision. They had more color, the people who were there h
