Chapter 60. Lily
DOVE
“Dove, are you okay?” Lion asked. I was getting used to him calling me by my name; it was so strange. He had always been formal with me, even though he was my husband’s best friend. He should treat me like a friend, not a queen.
“Yes, I’m fine… just a little tired,” I replied, my vision blurred by the brightness of the sun. I was sitting on one of the garden benches, with the weight of my decision upon me. I was deciding whether to leave, and I didn’t know how all the people I cared about would react.
My sisters were playing with the water fountain, with small wooden boats painted in different colors. Lily ran towards me, and I hugged her, my eyes moistened by the tears that were coming.
“Hi, princess,” I greeted her as she sat next to me.
She laughed at my greeting, wearing a silver tiara with a lapis lazuli in the center that Jacob had given her. She also had a kind of staff that she used to play as if she were a magician or something. She loved
