Chapter 61. Kidnapped

“What did you say?” I asked, bewildered. Lion was in the same state as me.

“We agreed to meet tonight, and she’s not anywhere to be found. I thought she had changed her mind, but her family said she didn’t come back home,” Jason began to say, nervous.

“Repeat what happened,” Lion said brusquely, unable to control his anger.

“She said she would help her aunt, and then we would have dinner together…”

I was frozen; things were happening so fast that I needed to hold onto something to keep my sanity.

“I’m afraid she’s been kidnapped…” Jason said, but Lion interrupted him.

“Don’t be stupid, that’s not possible.”

I swallowed hard, knowing that it was possible, just as I had decided to leave. In the middle of the garden, my legs shook as I imagined Clarisa with the same fate as Josefina and the other women.
