Chapter 13

Damian had been deeply engrossed in his work, poring over a pile of documents on his desk, when the telephone unexpectedly rang. The sharp sound cut through the silence and he was jolted from his concentration. He leaned back in his chair, his brows furrowing as he pressed the button to answer the call.

"Mr. McBride, you got a visitor," Lavinia said.

"Who is it?" Damian asked.

"Miss Ella Sullivam. Should I let her in?"

"Okay, send her in," Damian replied before ending the intercom.

He wondered why his sister had come to his office. He prayed it wasn't a problem because he was already fed up with her.

"Hello, Damian. How are you?" Ella greeted him, and he furrowed his brow.

Damian scowled at Ella and asked, "Why are you dressed like that?"

Damian didn't like Ella's outfit—a miniskirt and a blouse that barely covered her midriff. And why did she get a belly ring?

"So, do you like my new look?" She turned around in front of Damian.<
