Chapter 39

Damian felt nervous as he waited for the doctor to attend to Ella inside. He paced around and couldn't stay still. The woman had been inside for hours, and he hadn't heard anything yet.

He sat down for a while but stood up again after a few minutes. Silently, he prayed for Ella and the child's well-being. He sighed multiple times while waiting for the test results.

When he saw the doctor come out, he immediately approached and asked, "How is she, Doc?"

"She's fine, but she had a miscarriage. I'm sorry," said the doctor, tapping his shoulder.

Damian felt the urge to punch the hospital wall upon hearing the news. It was his fault that he lost the child he would have had with Ella. If only he had resolved his issues with Monique earlier, it wouldn't have come to this.

Would Ella ever forgive him? His mind was in turmoil, trying to figure out how to make things right with Ella because he was sure she wouldn't pay attention to him now.
