Chapter 37

Sofia knew that the joke she made towards Diego was too much. She knew that romantic feelings were something that she shouldn't joke about especially considering the fact that Diego could really be having strong feelings for her.

"What are you thinking about?"

Sofia didn't notice when her mother, Eve came from behind to approach her.

Sofia was jolted from her thoughts by her mother's voice. She sighed heavily. "I really messed things up with Diego."

Eve's expression softened as she came to sit beside her daughter on the couch. "What happened, sweetheart?"

Gnawing her lip guiltily, Sofia recounted the events that had transpired with Diego in the garden - admitting she had developed feelings for him, then brushing it off as a joke when he reciprocated those feelings.

"Oh Sofia..." Her mother sighed once she had finished. "Why on earth would you joke about something like that?"
