Diego's heart was pounding as he hurried across the campus quad, scanning the crowds of students for Ava's familiar face. He had no idea where she might be, but he was determined to find her. This time, he wasn't going to let fear or doubt hold him back.

As he neared the library, he spotted Ava's roommate Lily leaving the building. "Lily!" he called out, waving to get her attention. "Have you seen Ava?"

Lily grinned knowingly at him. "Actually, you just missed her. She was looking for you too."

"Towards the student center last I saw," Lily replied. "And Diego?" She waited until he met her gaze. "Don't screw this up, okay? Ava's loved you for a long time."
