Chapter 52

The pack erupted into deafening cheers, howls, and stamping of feet. The various families shouted out their pledge of allegiance one by one. Sofia stood tall, trying to etch every detail of this moment into her memory forever.

Juan waited for the roar to die down before speaking once more.

"From this night forward, Alpha Sofia holds dominance over all pack affairs. Her word is law, her rulings are absolute. Any defiance or challenge of her authority will be dealt with as treason."

He leveled his gaze particularly at a few known troublemakers and hotheads. The message was clearly received as they nodded tightly.

Juan then removed the beautifully carved pendant hanging around his neck - an ancient pack relic denoting the Alpha status. He placed the leather cord over Sofia's head so the symbol rested against her chest.

"By the old codes and in the names of the Alphas before me...I relinquish my role to you, Sofia. Lead our pack well.&qu
