Chapter 74

Sofia was not comfortable with the news that Mateo had been sent to infiltrate the Cold Forest Pack and gain information that would lead to the destruction of the pack. She was also not comfortable with the idea that Juan was trying to convince her that everything was fine, and there was nothing she should be worried about.

"Mateo was misled," Juan tried to talk to Sofia like a father. "He didn't know what he was getting to and that is why he did what he did."

Sofia paced back and forth, her mind racing as she tried to process Juan's words. "But how can we be sure of that, Juan? Mateo is one of our most seasoned warriors. He knows the risks, the stakes, better than anyone."
