Chapter 90
Over the following weeks and months, Eve found herself clinging to Marco's calming guidance like a lifeline amidst the chaos. True to his word, he patiently began imparting wisdom about navigating her new existence as a werewolf.
"The first and most crucial step is learning to ground yourself," he explained during one of their earliest sessions together. They were seated cross-legged in a secluded meadow, the tranquil burbling of a nearby stream providing a soothing backdrop.
Eve tried to follow Marco's lead as he closed his eyes and inhaled a deep, cleansing breath. "You need to focus your mind, find an anchor to hold onto your humanity and sense of self when the bloodlust and animal urges start raging within you."
Nodding faintly, Eve allowed her own lids to flutter shut as she attempted to quiet her whirring thoughts. Almost immediately, flashes of David's ashen face and glassy eyes bombarded her, causing her to flinch.
