Chapter 32. Weston and Fiona?
The next morning Isabella was better physically but mentally she was heartbroken. She got ready for school as usual and her dad dropped her off. She hadn’t said a word since morning apart from answering her parents about her health. Her mom noticed she was exceptionally down, but she tried to ignore it, knowing that Isabella would be normal with time.
“Isa,” called Emma excitedly, seeing her best friend near her locker. “I’m sorry, girl, I couldn’t make it to your birthday party last night. Mom wasn’t well, and she needed me,” said Emma apologetically. Isabella didn’t respond. Lost in a world of her own, she stood near her locker blankly with her eyes unfocused and dazed. “Isa? Are you okay?” asked Emma with concern. She shook Isabella to bring her to her senses.
Isabella stared at her. “What?” she asked with a lost expression on her face.
“I said I’m sorry for not attending your birthday party. Mom was unwell,” Emma repeated and Isabella nodded.
