Chapter 21. Moving On

Five years later

Serenity tried very hard to move on, but couldn’t. She was still stuck on that dreadful night when she lost her Lex forever. Heartache was something that she had learned to live with since then and couldn’t forgive Lucas during the initial year. She had enrolled in Lucas’s college to pursue her passion, Interior Designing, but at the back of her mind, she was always worried about Alexander. Initially, she had no clue where he was and what he was doing. However, a year after that dreadful night, a small article on the sports page of the national newspaper caught Liam’s attention. He had brought it to her, and she felt overwhelmed and shocked after reading the news.

There, along with the article, was a picture of Alexander in a Mixed Martial Arts uniform, posing for an after-match photograph. The venue was in New York. It was obvious from the write-up that he was an MMA fighter doing well for himself as he posed with the famous MMA star coach and sponsor,
