Chapter 27. Reconnecting with Him

After explaining everything to Logan and the contractor, Serenity walked back to her apartment to take a shower and have lunch. She went up to the second-floor apartment and unlocked the door absent-mindedly; the exhaustion taking a toll on her. After a sleepless night, all she needed at the moment was food and some rest. She went inside the still apartment and turned around to lock the door after her, not wanting anyone to disturb her.

“Where did you leave that boyfriend of yours?” Serenity stopped in her tracks, as Alexander’s angry voice echoed in her head, wondering whether she was dreaming or was it really Alexander’s voice! She pinched herself and winced in pain. Turning around, she stood shocked seeing an angry Alexander sitting on her sofa right in front of her, his eyes fixed upon her.
