Chapter 38. Going to Lucas's House
After three months
“Mom, Dad, please, I need to rejoin work. Nancy’s there to look after the twins, so I’ll express enough milk for them to last for at least four hours and then go to the office,” pleaded Serenity as she hadn’t been able to re-join work ever since she had returned from San Francisco, a year back. With the able nanny, Nancy Smith, looking after the twins, Serenity wanted to give some time to her career.
“Not yet, Sera. Your body needs to recover, so regain your strength in three more months and then you can re-join work, but not at the moment.”
“At least I can work from home or I’ll go crazy, mom.” Her mom considered it for a moment.
“You can talk to your dad about it. If he agrees, I don’t have a problem, provided you don’t overdo it, as your body is still weak from delivery. You won’t feel it now, but if you don’t take adequate rest, you will suffer later.” Serenity nodded helplessly and then rushed to the nursery when Nancy called her.
