Chapter 23. Just Two More Nights
“When is the ceremony again?” Eva snuggled up to his chest. He was stroking her head.
“In two days.” Kissing her lightly on the cheek, he continued, “Tomorrow, I’m taking you shopping. You need clothes and other stuff. We didn’t bring much from your house, and I don’t feel comfortable leaving this place before the bonding.”
“Come, we better go before that old crooner busts a vein or something,” he said, pointing towards the red-faced adviser, trying to be discreet and yet failing miserably.
They retired to their room with the grumpy adviser trying to persuade Eva to move into a different room. Eva was giggling the whole way, and Edward was beginning to look annoyed. They were both saved by the queen as she shooed the adviser away and bid the couple good night.
