Chapter 25

The big day is finally here and I couldn't be more excited about it. The past week and a half have been great; rehearsals have been going very well, Carl and I have been spending more time together— though he still hasn't asked me out and, my girls have been protecting me from Allison so she doesn't harm me before the play.

Mrs. Bryan requested us to show up two hours early so we can do a final rehearsal and get ready before the play starts. I simply put on a tank top and jeans and tie my hair up in a bun. I sling my purse across my torso and head downstairs. The fresh smell of something savory draws me towards the kitchen and I find mom arranging some biscotti in a tray. Yum.

"Sam, come have a biscotti, they're freshly baked," mom offers as she raises the tray. She doesn't even need to ask. I take a biscotti and eat it. Double yum.

"These are great mom!" I comment and she beams at me, obviously pleased with herself. 

"Are you leaving already?" She asks.
