I was lying in my bed, struggling to fall back to sleep. I’d had a few hours of sleep after the party, but now I was wide awake. The events of the last few days had caught up with me, and no matter how much I tried to shut off and go to sleep, I couldn’t. My mind kept going over everything that had happened, Lucy, Evan, Mason, and the betrayal of the twins. I couldn’t reach them by phone, and Traian was too far away for me to contact him through our mind link. I needed them to explain, to tell me that they hadn’t gone behind my back and did their mothers bidding. How could I believe that she escaped and they didn’t just let her go?

I felt so alone. I knew I had Savanah and the pack, but I'd lost Tristan for good, and now Mason. It warmed my heart knowing that he tried to keep a hold of me, but sadly the mark didn’t work.
