Chapter 42. Suspicious Tension

Amelia’s POV

He was asking to meet up with me at a cafe so I texted back and we set a time for it. Almost immediately, I rushed back to the counter to check out the items and as soon as I was done, I rushed down to the cafe to meet with him.

He was already seated and waiting for me by the time I arrived and had even ordered my favorite milkshake.

“Any news on your brother?” He asked as I slipped into the space in front of him.

“Not yet,” I replied with a sad tone, “but Nolan left to sort it out.”

“That’s good to know.”

He focused on his drink for a few minutes before he cleared his throat and looked up at me.

“You might not like what you’re about to hear, Amelia but I think you really need to hear this.” Ted said as he inched forward on his seat and stretched his finger like he always did whenever he was nervous.

“What is it?” I asked with a raised brow.

“It’s about Nolan. I don’t know if you’ve met any woman named Sophie
