I’ve explored some truly strange and wondrous places in my time, but I never would have imagined that after descending more than a hundred flights of steps, I would step into an underground city so breathtaking. The endless staircase had tested my endurance, but now, standing at the threshold, I felt exhilarated by what lay before me.

“Welcome to the Underground City!” Aris called out, her voice bright and cheerful as she waved us forward. She stood at the edge of a vast, open plaza whose “sky” was nothing but a gently arching ceiling of enchanted walkways embedded with luminous stones. Those magical gems shone so brilliantly that they cast daylight-like illumination over every street, every tower, and every face we passed. I had expected dim corridors and flickering torches; instead, it was as radiant as any sunlit town above ground.
