After leaving Dolly’s farm behind, I felt an enormous weight lift from my shoulders. The bright sunlight filtering through the trees seemed to celebrate my newfound sense of freedom.

Aside from the pressure of forging the alliance between humans and werewolves, another burden had been weighing heavily on my mind for weeks: the rage that had once consumed me. In the past, that anger had felt uncontrollable, a wildfire threatening to engulf everything I held dear. But now, thanks to Celeste’s unwavering belief in me, I knew I could harness that fury and turn it against our true enemies, rather than let it destroy me from within.

Auraya and I walked side by side along a narrow dirt path that wound its way through a gently sloping meadow. A small stream gurgled at our feet, its clear water reflecting the sky like liquid glass. After a few moments of comfortable silence punctuated only by the soft trickle of water, Auraya finally spoke.

“So,”
