Chapter 29. Werewolves in Aurion
Celeste’s POV
The road to the village stretched on for miles, winding through dense hedgerows and over cobbled stone paths that grew more uneven with every step. It wasn’t hard to see why Guara had eluded us for so long—after all, werewolves don’t bother tracking prey that seems more trouble than it’s worth. If something proves too elusive or too dangerous, they simply abandon the chase.
Even now, Eryndor looked uneasy about traveling alongside the three of us. I could sense his skepticism in the way he cast wary glances over his shoulder, but I trusted that if he made a move against us, Nora, Sia, and I could handle him without breaking a sweat.
Leah—my inner fox—felt something different. She was inexplicably drawn to him, claiming his scent was uniquely intoxicating. I didn’t fully understand her attachment, but I knew I’d have to keep Leah on a short leash until we learned more about Eryndor’s past. The others found it easier to rein in their inner wolve
