Years ago, when I was still just a little girl, I was astonishingly gullible. If any of my friends told me there was gold at the bottom of a well, I would have believed them without question. Back then, I didn’t know better, and my trusting nature often made me the target of the pack’s harmless pranks.

I was born into the Stormclaw pack. Unlike other werewolf clans, we were marked by strikingly unusual hair colors—jet black, bright yellow, fiery red, even deep green—and these hues persisted when we shifted into our wolf forms. Some elders whispered that our pack had not only won the favor of the Luna goddess but had also been blessed by Dracona, the dragon goddess herself. This divine double blessing, they said, made us the fastest clan in all the territories. The wind was our constant ally; we could sprint across open plains and dense forests for hours without a hint of exhaustion.
