Chapter 22

It had been two weeks since Jesse died, and it still hurt just as much as the day that Chase told me about the accident. I know I didn't know him for long, but we had such a strong connection. I’d even been dreaming of a future with him. Then he died…how could the universe be so cruel?

The girls at the Sorority were getting annoyed with my moping, and I even heard one say that I had no right to grieve for a guy that I'd only known for a few days. To be honest, I agreed with her entirely, but I couldn't help how I felt.

Payton mentioned the meeting a few more times, but I no longer cared to know anything. None of it was important to me right now.

Instead of facing reality, I partied.
