Chapter 3

I laid down on the floor and gazed up into the beautiful night sky. The stars twinkled, and it was the first time in weeks that I felt at complete peace. I sensed something in the distance towards the trees, so I turned my head to look at what was there. My eyes grew wide when I saw them. Just outside of town lines were Chase and Jesse. Behind them were their packs. They were waiting for me, calling to me, although now I couldn’t hear them.

My heart began to beat faster and faster as excitement and joy took over me. Seeing them made me happier than I could have imagined. Their beautiful, sparkling green eyes and their dimpled smiles drew me in instantly. I loved them more than anything in this world, but now that everything was silent, I could think clearly for the first time in weeks. Had they been there the entire time? Was this all happening because of them?

I stood up and they both edged forward but stopped dead like they couldn’t cross an invisible barrier or something
