Chapter 2
With a fractured groan, I stretched my arms into the air, trying to relieve some of the muscle aches that plagued my body. Sleeping upright in the car wasn’t the most comfortable and my joints hurt like a bitch. A few cracks here and there relieved some of my discomfort. I peeled my eyes open when my dad opened up the car door, and I was glad that the sun had long since set in the sky. I didn’t look at him, my gaze dropped down to my twitching fingers. They seemed to be rhythmic in their movements and I remembered that I had fallen asleep stroking my brother’s fur.
“Where's Austin?” I asked in a croaky voice.
“He didn’t want to gross you out with his naked ass, so he ran off into the house to get dressed.”
