Chase and I kept running through the trees like giddy fawns. We couldn’t believe how lucky we'd been. Irene turning up, right when we were trying to escape seemed like fate had planned it all out for us. It felt great knowing we had a higher power on our side. Sure, I knew that if Irene and her brothers survived the Soulderians, they'd hunt down Chase. She won’t let him go that easy. I mean if she was willing to sacrifice her life by fighting the black witches, there was nothing that could stop her from getting Chase back. The triplets had been running from the Soulderians all their life, so risking her own life and her brothers meant that she did Love Chase, in her own murderous and twisted way.

If it went the other way and the triplets lost, I would be next on the Soulderians list and if they managed to extract the Titagel’s powers, I doubted that we stood much chance against them. They were power-hungry and beneath Irene and her brothers, I was classed as the next most powerful
