The light from the small pieces of diamonds arranged in a star shape attached to the gold circle the size of my ring finger made my eyes blink rapidly.

Noah stroked my wrinkled forehead while laughing. “This is just a ring and it’s not too expensive. I’ll replace it with something better when we get your grandfather and your brother’s blessing.”

I looked up, turning my gaze that had been stuck to the ring that was circling my finger to Noah.

“Are you crazy? How can you say this is just a ring and not too expensive?” I said in a slightly high tone. “This is the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen and I’m sure it’s very expensive!”
