Chapter 77. Not Like This
“Why did you just bring him now?” asked the doctor who examined baby Marteen. “This baby is dehydrated and has a problem with his respiratory tract.”
I was scared now.
“He kept drinking milk, but threw it up again, doc,” I said. “And kept crying.”
“Yes, his breathing was disturbed and he had difficulty swallowing, so he had to throw up the milk again,” the doctor replied.
Meanwhile, baby Marteen was still crying, but now his voice sounded like he was hiccuping and he was shaking like he was cold.
“You have to take him to the hospital, ma’am,” said the doctor who examined him. “This is a small clinic and we don’t have complete equipment for cases like this.”
“W-what? Hospital? N-no, I can’t take him to the hospital,” I said nervously.
