Chapter 49. Weakness
Luc entered Giovanna's room, carrying a tray of soup himself. He immediately noticed that the room was flooded, and the sound of water coming from the bathroom. He dropped the tray, his heart squeezing. What had she done? For a few seconds he was frozen in place. But knowing that he had to act immediately, because speed could be the cause of death or life, he ran to the bathroom and had to break down the door. He felt the hot tears on his face when he saw Giovanna whiter than usual, and the blood gushing from her wrists. Had he made a mistake and she wasn't a werewolf? He went over to her and lifted her out of the bath, carrying her to the bed, where he tore two strips from the sheet and wrapped them around her wrists to stop the bleeding. He couldn't say what it was that caught the attention of the guards he'd left at the door, but they came in and while one went to turn off the tap, another called the werewolf hospital.
