Chapter 51. Prophecy
The nanny approached Giovanna and Caio, who were looking at the goldfish in a fountain in the garden, amazed and distracted by their beauty.
"Ma'am... I need to take Caio for a bath before dinner..." She said with her head down.
Giovanna looked at her disgustedly, but didn't stop when Caio ran up and gave her his hand to let them in.
"Your rules are stupid." She said to Luc, who abandoned the book beside him and stared at her amusedly.
"Children need rules and limits. But feel free to disagree. He's your son too."
Caio had tired of the swing a few minutes earlier and made the two of them go to the garden fountain with him. Luc went, but so as not to interrupt the moment between mother and son, he preferred to continue his reading.
"I can't take away your authority in front of him. It would be catastrophic."
"You have no way of knowing."
Giovanna smiled teasingly and went to sit next to him.
"Do you think I'm incompetent?"
