Kate was even more charmed by him when she heard his words spoken with such irony and humor, because she had always imagined the Alpha to be an arrogant, haughty man who didn't mix with the Omegas, Gammas and only the Betas were worthy of his friendship. She smiled and regained her confidence.

"I talk better when I'm alone with a man... amazing like you. How about if I tell you some of my secrets somewhere more private?" She replied, naturally sensual from years of practice.

Luc's eyes sparkled with interest and he stood up, but a tall, blonde woman with expressive blue eyes entered the ballroom at that moment and looked lost. She wasn't a werewolf and perhaps that's why he was distracted by her presence. That place was private. He was curious to know how she got past the security guards.

Kate touched his arm with an inquiring look and he was torn between pleasure and discovery.
