Chapter 40. The Price

Calleb decided it was time for the family to return home, as Samah should be well by now and looking forward to meeting her youngest daughter. He left people to take care of Samah's feeding, but they had to be careful not to take her food until she was asleep, so as not to disturb her in any way.

He arrived with the baby in his arms and when he smelled human blood he stopped at the door and looked terrified at Noah and handed him the baby.
