"Something is wrong somewhere," Kai noted as Maribel and I pulled apart. I wiped my tears just slowly, my lips spreading into a smile.

"You're right," Ronan agreed, his eyes fixed on my neck, staring. So was Kai.

"What do you mean? Is something wrong with my neck?" I questioned, raising my hand to my neck.

Everyone was looking at me like I had two heads or like I was a ghost of some sort. "Can someone tell me what is going on? Elias and I are no longer in danger, so what is it?" I pressed, squinting my eyes when Maribel took a step back, shaking her head subtly.

"Maribel told your mates to mark you, that the additional power from them in your bond could stop the spell from being broken," Nyra explained, eyes lowering to the same spot Kai and Ronan were staring at.
