We were walking outside to the SUV when I felt a shift of Delaney's emotions in our bond. One second she was glowing with happiness, the next everything changed to dull, heavy and discontented. Her lips, which were previously stretched into a beautiful smile, contracted into a pout, every ounce of brightness vanishing from her face. "What is it, love?" Ronan asked with a frown; he must have felt the sudden change too.
"Nothing," she answered quickly, walking ahead of us. A week after her mom had left with her dad, she had refused to talk about it, insisting that she was okay.
